| Welcome to Amelia's Newsletter Amelia's Baskets is family owned. My husband Michael helps me put basket kits together, cuts and prepares wood bases. Recently, I taught him how to do chair bottoms with bark. In the next two months both of us will be trained to select the proper type of tree, take it down and pull the bark off the tree. The wood from the tree will be used to make the frame of the chair. We also want to learn to select white oak to split and prepare strips of oak to weave baskets. Just a little about me and how I got started basket weaving. My name is Amelia, most of my friends call me Melly, which is my nickname.
where I met my husband and we now live in Kentucky. This is where I learned my first basket pattern which is called the Japanese Spiral pattern and have been weaving for 6 years now.
Please let me know what you might want to read about so I can keep that in mind when updating my website newsletter. Below are a few more examples of my work! Contact Amelia at: rosebud61b@peoplepc.com or her site www.ameliasbaskets.com Click here to return to Links to Other Artist |
