A native New Yorker, Fae is a self-taught artist and photographer who developed her unique style
when she moved to Southern California over 20 years ago.
Using oils, pastels and colored pencils to push the envelope of conventional black and white
photography she creates images and environments almost unrecognizable as photographs. Fae is
inspired by her travels and delights in accentuating the obvious – the things we take for granted
and therefore don’t really see.
Fae lives in Santa Monica and has had various local exhibitions of her work. In 2007 her
photograph “The Invisible Woman” was included in the Juried Visual Art Exhibit of the 6th Annual
Women’s Art Festival in Long Beach, CA. 2008 saw the acceptance of “Approach Avoidance aka
Don’t Touch” in the Juried Exhibition “Visual Literacy” at the 2nd City Council Gallery in Long
Beach, CA and “Bombs Over Baghdad” in Picture This Gallery’s “Casualties of War” show, also in
Long Beach. In 2009, “Last Night I Dreamt of Birkenau” was chosen for the Topanga Canyon
Gallery 2009 Juried Open. In addition, three works (“Number 10”, “Wall of Sorrow” and “The
Other Side of the Rainbow”) will be part of The City of Glendale’s Brand Library show entitled
