Hi Friends, Fellow Runners and The Way to Happiness Supporters,
John Radich Ultra Marathoner saying a big warm hello to you all.
I am promoting the USA/Canada run.
Our start date will be sometime in August 2009 soon after the July 14th Badwater 135 mile ultra marathon across Death
Valley, CA which will be my 9th Badwater run.
I will start the run from Santa Monica, CA (dipping my feet in the Pacific) following Historic Route 66 www.route66.com
into Chicago and then crossing into Toronto and Montreal back down to NY or WA DC for the finish ( to be decided)
dipping my feet into the Atlantic. 3,700 miles or as 'the crow flys'. We are in the early stages of forming this event up. I
will be running solo with a baby jogger carrying my supplies.
My foundation I will fund raise for is The Way to Happiness www.twth.org a 501c non-profit group which is helping
youth make the right choices through trust, honesty and restoring common sense values which all cultures and creeds
go along with. Kids are our future and this being a worthy purpose, with crime, drugs, intolerance all rampant in our
society, this concerns us all.
We are looking for major sponsors, volunteers who can help with media appointments for each town or city I come into,
fund raisers, PR experience is helpful, media contacts, someone who can help create a web page, volunteers who just
want to help, ideas and suggestions are welcome. Runners/Walkers/Cyclist and youth are encouraged to join me in
each town I come through. Our theme is helping youth make the right choices by setting a good example. This run has
great potential as far as bringing awareness for The Way to Happiness Foundation with their great work they do
worldwide. My dream since I was 16 years old has been to run across the USA. Having run across Europe 3 times in
my life, it's time for that dream to happen, this being my honor and duty to help our kids and TWTH Foundation.
Our next meeting is coming up. Hope you can join us and share your valuable input and possibly give us a hand on this
very worthwhile project. Feel free to pass this email to your friends who may be interested or email me any suggestions
and info you may have.. Many 'Ultra Thanks' to my friends who made contributions to TWTH and assisted me over the
years with my runs. I look forward to making new friends and our USA/Canada run a great success!
