Phyllis Chang is a 4th generation Korean American singer/songwriter from Los Angeles.
She is best known for her warm-sultry vocal styling and contemporary pop/jazz songs. Phyllis has recorded and produced
several CDs that include: (2009) "Make Someone Happy!) (2007) "Never Alone" (2005/2002) "On a Carpet Ride" (1998)
"Forgiveness" as well as two children's cds (1998) "For the Love of my Dog" (1994) "Songs From the Heart"
Phyllis has performed throughout Southern California, Seattle, Hawaii, New Mexico, New York and Las Vegas at various
festivals, cafes, community events, museums, and other venues.
In 1994 Phyllis started her own music label/home music studio (Pinky Paws Productions) name after one of her dogs, and has
recorded several cds of her original music. Her lastest(2009) CD "Make Someone Happy!" is a compilation of selected
classic jazz and pop songs dedicated to "caregivers." From 1997-2006, Phyllis was a caregiver for both her parents who had
Alzheimer and Ovarian Cancer.
She wanted to produce a CD to honor those who are caring for loved
ones. "Music can be a part of the healing process for not only the patient,
but also for the caregiver." "It's a beautiful way to connect with loved
ones, especially when they are ill."
- In 2006, Phyllis started Be Studios to encourage others to "follow their
creative dream" in music and art. She is currenlty performing music and
eaching vocals privately.
Phyllis will be performing with her Contemporary Pop/Jazz band some of
her original songs as well as her favorite classic jazz & pop songs. Signed
CDs will also be available at the concert.
