Red Riding Hood

In therapy they talk
about father and the mother
as the first most dramatic
and lasting influence
nobody mentions
the first man
in a woman's life.

Not her father
of course
but the man who takes
the scared little girl
through the dark forest
in which we know
lives the big bad wolf

Men are hungry dogs
her mother told her
(probably mad at her husband
for some reason)

The girl took it seriously
now afraid of men
but this one is good
like her dad
like her brother
so she can relax

The door is a bit open
and he enters
He takes her through it
slowly knowingly
and she finds out
it is not like
her mom said.

But she feels guilty
and never trusts adults anymore..
