It was a warm day I was on my way I happened to see Facing away from me A lovely maiden by the pool What was this lovely girl doing Standing by the pool not moving The motionlessness with which she stood Was it possible that she could That she could be thinking about life Life must have caught her attention She stood with no apprehension What could cause no movement I watched her only for a moment She was lovely standing by the pool I left to go on my way I’ll never forget that day Motionless and unaware Not showing any care Beauty and grace No worry, not a trace Caught on canvas now Not showing her face. ©2009 Carl Watts www.carlwattsartist.com |
