| True to Self |
Ah! But what would I do If I were not true To myself? Poems would not flow Places, I’d care not to go Withdrawn—space pulled in Acting alone—feeling no friend Creating stifled Production less than a trifle Ah but what if I spotted it! I’d jump on it And start to spit Ideas and thoughts would flow And into new creating I’d go! I wrote this after seeing how insidious suppression of an artist can be. I'd been suppressed. Unknowingly! I had stopped writing, stopped creating! Well I'm back! By Carl Watts www.carlwattsartist.com 6/9/09 For more poems by Carl visit Personalized Poetry for You |
