#Klout vs #FollowFriday

To qualify this, I have no clue if I am accurate and this is only my opinion so given that, if you care to, read
on!

I recently looked into
Klout.

I had a follower ask me "how I use FF and Klout for different purposes" and "it seemed FF turned into
simply a game, is there more to it?"

So I've been playing with Klout for a few days.

I want to thank Meredith Allison (
@RockTique) for prompting me to think and communicate!

#FollowFriday

I've written an article on how I use FollowFriday: "FollowFriday, How to Get Traffic."

I've also written an article "
FollowFriday, How to Play."

I consider that FollowFriday is more than a game.

While it is nice to score well, scoring is less important than having a good way to validate and promote my
team. By promoting #AwesomeTeam members every Friday in shoutouts, I am recommending them as
people to follow to the rest of my followers. This expands their ability to gain more followers.

Helping them gain followers is part of my plan "
New Civilization."

Also, each week, by playing FollowFriday, I introduce or reintroduce an article to #AwesomeTeam
members; currently that's 1850 people. My last article was RT'd 412 times between Thursday and
Tuesday, which put it in front of a huge number of potential readers.

I consider that what I'm writing is important data. See
How and Why I use Twitter and New Civilization.

Communication

Another important aspect about FollowFriday is it allows the re-establishment of communication within
#AwesomeTeam.

For a group to remain a group, there must be some goal as outlined in
New Civilization and
communication amongst it's members. FollowFriday spurs that along!

Klout

Klout is a site that measures your social impact according to them. They have various formulas. I suggest
connecting you Facebook, Linkedin and Twitter accounts with them as that seems to raise your klout.

Klout is a platform for advertising. Nothing wrong with that.

What I use Klout for is to promote very loyal supporters. It is not a fast simple procedure. You have to go to
Klout's site, search for the follower and select where you're going to give your support. You can only give
Klout five times per day. So that scarcity makes them valuable, important.

I'm not sure yet how effective this is but so far, when I given someone "klout" they've been very appreciative.

I'd like to do this will all my followers but Klout limits me.

What is your purpose for being on Twitter?

If it's merely to pass the time of day, my articles aren't going to be of much value probably to you.

If you want to make an impact, read some more.

Klout is a tool. How to best use it is what I'm looking into.

Request of Info

If anyone has some data to input, let me know and I'll consider adding it to my update in a few weeks,
giving you credit of course.

In the near future, I'll update this once I estimate the "klout" Klout has on my followers!

Check out my article “
New Civilization” and keep up the positive out flow of smiles and information to
