Notice the holes and remaining paint. Using recycled wood is a challenge but it is rewarding in that it gives a unique character to the wood. The challenge is that it warps, has holes and sometimes is rotten. At least 25% of the original material was thrown out as totally unusable. The remaining wood is beautiful and extremely strong.
